Any problems the council may have with the individual/Individuals should first merit a warning letter if only reported by witnesses then if it continues another letter stating that the offense does merit surveillance by the police after obtaining a court certified warrant and another thing I wanted to is what about tresspass violations the council took when monitoring some of these individuals Not even the partment of health and social security (department of works and pensions now) and they have special surveillance teams can follow a potential dole cheat or other fraud offender without a warrant. The whole things smacks of big brother bullying mentality and when it was shown the individuals privacy rights were violated, That individual should of made a claim against the council for its ilegle activty.

I disagree, Joe seems to be ignoring the fact that 1;3 people are now getting cancers and approximately one person in 20 — is especially sensitive to radiation. These people have gene mutations that make them less able to repair X-ray damage to their DNA. Two examples are the BRCA-1 and BRCA-2 mutations associated with breast and ovarian cancer, but there may be many more unknown defects. Most people do not know if they are one of those 5 percent because there is no quick and easy test to find those individuals."Children are also more vulnerable to radiation damage, because they have more dividing cells at any time. A radiation-induced mutation in their cells can lead to cancer decades later so these scanners may be causing massive increases in cancer in the future. Cancer patients have often had radiotherapy. Many people with medical conditions eg hip/knee replacements, metal heart valves etc are being unfairly subjected to invasive body searches every time they fly and are more likely to be selected to go through x ray scanners because they set off metal detector alarms. These people have already been subjected to invasive medical investigations/treatments involving high doses of radiation eg CT scans and have high cummulative doses of radiation along with the background radiation that we are all exposed to. Its no wonder cancer as a disease is increasing.

It's kind of a double edged sword. On one hand its good for security, have seen culprits identified numerous times using CCTV, but on the other hand there is the privacy issue.

They seem to be conveniently ignoring the fact that 1;3 people are getting cancers — one person in 20 — is especially sensitive to radiation. These people have gene mutations that make them less able to repair X-ray damage to their DNA. Two examples are the BRCA-1 and BRCA-2 mutations associated with breast and ovarian cancer, but scientists believe there may be many more unknown defects. Most people do not know if they are one of those 5 percent. There is no quick and easy test to find those individuals."Children are also more vulnerable to radiation damage, because they have more dividing cells at any time. A radiation-induced mutation in their cells can lead to cancer decades later so these scanners may be causing massive increases in cancer in the future but they do not seem to care-anything for a quick fix and worry about the consequences later-no one will be able to easily prove it was the scanner that caused the cancer so why would the government care? This is a gross invasion of privacy and human rights as pointed out on EHRC website.

Google watch your searches and your youtube browsing and sell that information on. I have proof of this in an number of situations. Here's one example: When I go to Amazon it suggests books and DVDs for me what are based entirely on which videos I've watched that week on youtube. These are things I have absolutely not searched for on Amazon itself. Now, how could Amazon possibly know I've been watching certain obscure 1990's British TV comedy shows on youtube? Only if google sold that information to them. This is just one of numerous examples I could site. Another example. I start searching for guitar lessons on google. Next thing I know I'm on a news and public affairs blog and the google adverts are all for guitar lessons, not only that, but one of the non-google ads on the page is also about guitar lessons. I don't remember singing an agreement with google saying they can watch my browsing and sell that information on...

The problem we have in oxford is that most the cab drivers don't agree with the cctv installment. As for the black cabs i'm sad to say the secretary of the association[COLTA]has been pushing for these cctv's without propper consultaion with the drivers. If the secretary of COLTA is so confident that these cameras will be installed why has he not gone out of his way to get a vote from all the proprieters of the taxi trade, because he knows he would loose that vote.Yet when members of COLTA have asked the secretary about transparency regarding COLT funds & other issues ,the secretary talks about data protection laws. WHERE THE HELL IS THE DATA PROTECTION FOR THE DRIVERS & PASSENGERS IF THESE CCTV CAMERAS ARE PUT IN.
