Write to your MP about the Justice and Security Bill today

Time is running out to ensure that the British legal system is not fundamentally altered in favour of the State’s desire to keep secret what it chooses.

The House of Lords attempted to introduce safeguards to the Justice and Security Bill – but they were overturned at Committee stage in the Commons.

The latest assessment from the Joint Committee on Human Rights, publishing its second legislative scrutiny report, warned that there were still a number of significant issues that had not been addressed by the Government.

Andrew Tryie MP and Anthony Peto, QC wrote a damning paper for the Centre for Policy Studies ‘Neither Just nor Secure’ while former Labour Minister Chris Mullin joined critics arguing the Bill “will be deeply damaging to the integrity of our legal system in the eyes of the world.”

A letter signed by 702 legal experts called the Bill ‘dangerous and unnecessary’ while the Special Advocates’ latest analysis,  argues there is “no compelling justification for the proposals in Part 2 of the Bill has been made out, notwithstanding the Government’s assertions to the contrary“.

You can download a letter to send to your MP now – time is running out.

What is the point? I wrote recently to my MP about plain packaging and he proved he has a closed mind about smokers and believes everything ASH tells him. He also supports minimum alcohol pricing, banning fast food outlets and God knows what other social engineering devices. The last line of his Wiki entry says it all: Mearns opposes renewing Trident nuclear weapons system, is a supporter of Palestine and Hugo Chavez. Mearns is also a supporter of same sex marriage.

Don’t like your MP? or find he always goes against what you want? VOTE HIM OUT!

Also Facebook Twitter and word of mouth about it enough, unless the British elections are truly rigged, you should be rid of him sooner rather than later.

I was thinking about Facebook or Twitter. I have accounts and never really utilised them, however, Im a fast learner and willing to put myself into it

In the county I come from, there’s no point. A tory MP will always win because it’s an area so strongly tory that nothing I can do will change anyones minds, and thus we begin the saga of the outdated and discouraging voting system. Fun times.

This is bordering on treason and the government is causing all sorts of unease but to be honest no matter how many letters they get they are steamrolling it through,we need the media of some kind to step in,only trouble is that we cannot trust them either, fed up with all the Sherriff of Nottinghams now in power,we need a Robin Hood to put things right
